"As a result of the suspension of the CET on Paints and Varnishes, the rate of duty has increased to 50% for a period of one year, from 1January 2025 to 31 December 2025 in accordance with Article 83(3) sub-paragraphs (f) and (g) of the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas."
The increase is applicable to paints and coatings of H.S headings 3208.10, 3208.20, 3208.90, 3209.10, 3209.90, 3210.00, 3214.10, and 3214.90.

NOTICE: Temporary Relocation of Customs Cashiers – Leroy Trotman Building
Effective Tuesday, September 16, 2025, the Customs Cashiers at Customs House – Leroy Trotman Building will be temporarily relocated until further notice.
Please take note of the following important updates
Leroy Trotman Building – Customs House
• The Customs Cashiers will now be located at the West End of the Leroy Trotman Building.
• Only cheque and electronic payments will be accepted at this location.
• Cash payments will NOT be accepted at this location until further notice.
Cash Payments – Alternative Locations
Persons wishing to make customs duty payments in cash may do so at the following locations:
• Bridgetown Port – Shed 2
• Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) – Terminal 11
Note: Individuals making cash payments will be facilitated by Barbados Port Inc. personnel to enter the Bridgetown Port.
Please be guided accordingly.
Please be advised that the Department will close at 1:00 pm with the exclusion of Shed 2, which will close at 2:00pm on Thursday, August 7, 2025, to facilitate a staff meeting.
Cashier services at all locations will close at 12:00 noon. Payments of duties and taxes may still be made via the online payment platform
Normal operations will resume on Friday, August 8, 2025
Passenger Operations at Terminal 1, Grantley Adams International Airport will remain open during this time.
